Celebrate the Holidays!

College can be a stressful and busy time. Especially with finals coming up and the semester coming to a close. However, it's still important to celebrate holidays, have fun, spend time with family, and friends. Of course, sometimes the holidays can be stressful as well, what with all the expectations that people have surrounding them. Despite that the holidays should be a fun and stress relieving time. A time when you can be surrounded by the people you love and care about. You should be able to forget about your finals and worries for just a little while.

Thanksgiving is coming up really soon, think about the things you are thankful for and tell people that you care about them and why you are thankful for them. Personally, I'm really thankful for the wonderful school I get to attend, for my family, boyfriend, friends, and good food! Make sure to participate in all the holiday activities that you can. For example, during Halloween I carved pumpkins with my friends and it was a blast! For Thanksgiving I'm looking forward to helping cook good food and maybe go to a couple themed events.

I usually end these blogs with tips, so here are some tips on how to survive dinner with your family.

1.      Sit next to someone nice. I'm from a big family and my extended family is even bigger. If you celebrate thanksgiving like my family does then make sure to sit next to someone you like. If you have a favorite cousin then sit next to them.

2.      When speaking, be careful. Your family is probably going to ask you a lot of questions. Make sure you don't speak of anything that might spark some kind of scandal. For example, my family is really conservative so I would avoid talking about politics.
