Hey girls, looking for some easy ways to jazz up your dorm room and make yourself feel more at home? Here are some creative ways on how to personalize your accessories…

Dorm Suite Dorm has a great collegiate musical alarm clock to get you in the team spirit. If you want to add your own personal touch to it, paint it! Put a design of your choice on the clock.

 

Think the desk chairs that are put in the dorm rooms are not so cute? Then pick out some cute fabric and make your own slip cover. 

 

Use extra bedding fabric to make your own lampshades. You can buy a cheap lamp from a second-hand shop and than add your own lampshade by super gluing some fabric to a blank lampshade or get some cardboard and make the shape you desire.  Below are the steps to get you started with a DIY accessories  project! 

 

 

     Things you’ll need to make your lampshade include:

•  Fabric glue
•  Scissors
• Stapler 
• Cardboard 
• Fabric of your choice 

 

First, shape the cardboard to make the shape of your choice, and then staple the cardboard together at the ends. 

 

Next cut the fabric to fit the cardboard, then drizzle the fabric glue over the cardboard and apply pressure to make the fabric stick. Be sure to tuck the end of the fabric inside the circle. 

Finally, let the fabric glue dry and you have your own lampshade!
