College Style: Top ten must haves for your dorm room

Packing for college can be a nightmare. I mean, who knew you had so much stuff?! The even bigger problem? How do you take it all with you?
Now, most dorm rooms are the size of a small car without the trunk. Unfortunately, we have to sacrifice a few things if we want to be able to walk around in our own room. It is for this reason I've complied a list of the top 10 must haves in your room. These are the little items you may not think to bring but could put you in a spot if you forget...
1. Rain boots - I think it rained non-stop my freshmen year and this was the first thing I wished I had.
2. Rain jacket - the umbrella doesn't always catch all of the water plus if you have your laptop in your bag you can hide it under this.
3 Nice jacket - a peacoat or something in similar quality. You never know what dance you might get asked to. =)
4. Black heels - great for last minute presentations of to spruce up an outfit
5. Black flats - in case you can't wear the heels in the previous number (these get you to the class where the heels are needed)
6. One business attire outfit - this will save you the stress the night before a presentation when you need an outfit
7. Tennis shoes - great for trekking across campus or taking a stress releasing run
8. nice dress (fancier than a sundress) - last minute outfit for a formal dinner (ie. Professor's party or fancy date)
9. old t-shirt- great if you have a crafty project or are out doing community service
10. comfort item - I brought the sweatshirt I studied in for all my high school exams. This will be your go to piece and it's nice to have that comfort.
Just remember, you will learn what you need and what you don't. But for now I hope this list helps take some of the stress away. Best wishes!
