College Style: No Hassle Summer Looks
5/25/2011 - by Savannah Cyree
It's summer time. Your wardrobe consists of flip flops and shorts. Every now and then you may spice it up with a pair of heels and a nice dress. But some days you need a quick outfit that flatters and looks like it took more than 5 without taking more than 5 minutes. Today, I want to share mine.
Firstly, my jean jacket is my best friend. It isn't layers of wool but isn't completely useless. I can throw it on with just about anything and go. It's my comfort jacket. Plus, it seems to be one item that is making a comeback. Finding the right fit can be difficult but don't worry you'll find it. A side note: The most comfortable ones tend to not be stiff.
Next, sundresses are another great investment. Some dresses require a few added touches such as a particular color undershirts or underwear. Find a few dresses that can be thrown on without requiring much more than putting them on. I have 2 from Jcrew that are my go to pieces. Dress them down with that jean jacket or up with a cardigan. But most of all, make sure you feel comfortable.
Lastly, a pair of wedges, color choice is your preference, that are comfortable for you. I purchased a pair of brown Clark's wedges and always turn to them when stiletto heels & flip flops won't work. These can make even the most simple outfit a touch classier and always make your legs look good.
I know that even on the best days shopping can be a hard task. It's easy to get discouraged but don't fret. Sometimes the best pieces take longer to find and when you do you'll be glad you didn't buy the first piece you saw. Good luck and remember to breathe next time you've only got 5 minutes because that is all you need.
