How to decorate on a budget

Make your dorm room look creative and fun without breaking your wallet at the same time. Before you get started, read the dorm rules about putting things up on your walls. See if you are allowed to use tics, tape, or nails on your walls. Once you get the okay from your R.A., let your creative juices flow!
A great $5.00 DIY artwork idea is to go to craft stores and buy some of your favorite prints and then make your own frame and matting by using plain cardboard. Glue or staple the print that you like to the cardboard then add any designs or color to it you that you want. Also don’t be afraid to scout out thrift shops and yard sales for unique wall art and cool stuff for your room.
Another great idea is to create a DIY jewelry frame. You can buy a cheap frame from a craft store and insert hooks onto it, then hang your favorite pieces on or buy a corkboard. You can also paint the background of the board to get it a more chic look and then put up the hooks to hang your jewelry on. Either way you have interesting wall décor and a great way to organize your jewelry!
