Dorm room must haves!

Okay, as I was enjoying the weekend I was thinking of what is really needed in the dorm rooms! You don't even get all of this from us, just the fabulous bedding! and maybe some accessories!

You are starting with a blank (ugly) clean slate when you move in so start with a rug for the floor! You definetly need that on those cold floors.  A lot of the colleges they have companies that will bring in the rug before you arrive, just check with the housing department. The next items will be the fabulous bedding from Dorm Suite Dorm! You will want extra pillows for comfort and a dust ruffle to hide the extra storage under the bed. Next , add pictures and posters to the walls to hide the ugly cinder block walls! Another great idea for these rooms is to add curtain panels. The picture in our dorm room has the grommet panels and we were able to remove the mini blinds and put our tension rod up where the blind brackets are. You can store the blinds in the top of the closet to replace back after you move out. You might need to check with housing again to make sure they don't mind. Another item you need is a small desk lamp for your desk or beside your bed. This is good for using when you don't want to use the overhead light late at night. Your room mate will thank you too if she is trying to sleep! The last think I wish I had in college is a rechargable small vacum to clean up the floor.
